An early start

Nick was born into a musical family in Staffordshire, England on a wet and windy Saturday morning at 12.37am. He grew up with his father and mother both of whom had been in the entertainment industry for years. His mother had come from a modeling background and his father had been playing keyboards/guitar and providing backing vocals for Sandie Shaw. When Nick was born his parents joined forces and created a music duo, both singing and providing entertainment for the working men's club scene that was so prominent at the time.

Born into a musical family Nick was surrounded by Pianos and showed interest in playing the piano from a very early age and as he grew up would stay up till the early hours of the morning teaching himself to play while he waited for his mother and father to return from a gig.

Midnight Express

BANDS, CLUBS & SMOKEY BARS

Nick was just starting high school when it was decided that Nick would join the musical duo. Nick would stand behind his keyboard on stage with his father and mother and provide backing vocals and keyboard riffs throughout the nights entertainment. During this time Nick absorbed the atmosphere and starting to learn the art of entertaining, in fact he enjoyed it so much he and his friend also created another duo by the name of "Midnight Express" and would later go on to do gigs of their own in the local area.

The start of Nicks solo career

As Nick hit his early twenty's his mother sadly passed away. The passing of his mother made him think about the future and it was his mothers death that made up his mind... He was going to live in Spain ! Many people were moving there during this time and he had heard about all the entertainment opportunities that were available, so he moved. Within a few years of moving to Spain Nick had become a household name within his local area as a solo singer and all round entertaining guy. He sang at local fiesta's and was welcomed by not only the Ex-pat community but also by the Spanish. He performed in theaters, bars and venues up and down the coast, appeared on local T.V, won various local awards and partnered up with some of the other local performers to provide variety nights. In the following years Nick came to work on three local radio stations, work alongside some big names in the entertainment industry and spent a few years on and off the cruise ships both as a solo singer and eventually "Cruise Director". A few years later he worked in Majorca as an Entertainment Manager in a prestigious hotel and to this day Nick is grateful and still amazed by the amount of friends he has made during his career as an entertainer.

The move to Germany

In his third year working as an Entertainments Manager in Majorca something happened that the world was not expecting, Covid hit. The world stopped in its tracks and everywhere shut down, everything was in chaos and Nick was faced with a decision. His partner whom he had met the year previously was living in Germany and as a native German was settled. Nick decided to join her in Germany.

The Future

At 44 years of age Nick continues to entertain today as a singer, a DJ or even providing a fun karaoke night. The crossover of 2022/2023 will be an interesting time for Nick as he finishes work on his new and upcoming "Nick David & The Piano" project, a show that allows him to once again enjoy the musical instrument that he started with so many years ago, the new show is especially exciting for Nick due to the incorporation of a fully programmed lighting rig and the introduction of new songs to his already large repertoire.
